Atilla Goes Twiggy for Astray
Photographer, Joe Carabeo and model, Atilla the Han, strike again. This photo
session was very much inspired by singular drama and negative space, and injected
with a Twiggy attitude. All the things that we enjoy making and I hope you enjoy
viewing. Of course, styling and make up performed by THE Hannah Elvington.

"HELP WANTED" renamed to "The Incident In Tesla"
So for a few weeks now we have been contemplating the name our project. It’s
come to our attention that the name “Help Wanted” has already been used on
numerous other films for many years now and we’re not particularly fans of reusing
names. So we thought about the situation long and hard. Many texts were sent from
the east coast to the west coast, in state, out of state and of course the easy way
of communicating, actually hearing each other voices. And we came up with a newer
more dangerous title that actually fits the tone of our supernatural, suspense,
mystery film more…
Yes, The Incident In Tesla. And look who was one of the first people to find out
about the new title.
Yes, THAT Kevin Smith.

Handmade Mart 2010 Gets A Visit From Curls Studio!
Though it was rainy in the begining of the show, that didn't stop lots of people
from comming to this summer's edition of the Hand Made Mart. Usually it's a
bit challenging having Curls Studio books out in nature, but this time we came
prepared...
It was a great show, met lots of people, lots of new people enjoyed the books and
hopefully us. The sun came out for the second half of the day and so did more
people. What else can you ask for in a Curls Studio tour stop. Hopefully we
catch you at the next tour stop.

Meghan Marchetti Goes Astray
Joe Carabeo just finished up a photo session with actress Meghan Marchetti, who
also took part in the photo project to decorate the walls of the diner set. Her head
shot session turned into an Elizabeth Taylor inspired photo shoot out. And of course
styling and make up was performed by the great Hannah Elvington.

Becca Bernard Goes Astray
Joe Carabeo had another wonderful photo session for the decoration walls of the
diner set with one of the greatest performers we’ve ever worked with, Becca
Bernard. We were channeling vintage road show burlesque, with a storyline of
being broken down on the side of the road. It was a blast from the past indeed.
Costuming by Carolyn Belefski and of course our make up and stylist was the
awe inspiring Hannah Elvington.

Curls Studio appears at the first ever
Washington DC Comic Con!
Curls Studio's illustrator Carolyn Belefski and writer Joe Carabeo, were very excited
about the news of being included in the very first ever Washington DC Comic Con.
It was was something that we felt that needed to happen and being guest at the
very first show made the moment even more special. Hopefully Curls Studio will be
there every year showing new books of the coolest characters ever. If you haven't

Urban Forest Project Preview

Atilla The Han Goes Astray, Again!
Another photo session team up of Atilla and Joe Carabeo, with of course, Hannah
Elvington as the stylist. Another shoot produced for the walls of the diner set, the
pure inspiration came from the French new wave, mainly the movie breathless.
Atilla is always a pleasure to work with especially when we go back in time.

More Atilla the Han and Bekah Bayles Photos
As promised, here are more photos from the sesssions with actress Bekah Bayles,
which was the Marilyn Monroe inspired shoot and with Atilla. A shoot that started
out infulenced by Jack White's hair and some how journey'd in a circus marching
band world. Which is why it's always a blast shooting without a net. Of course,
Hannah Elvington was the styist and make up on each shoot.

Stefani Zabner Goes Astray.
The actress Stefani Zabner joined us for Faye Dunaway inspired photo session for
the walls of the diner set. She is in fact an outlaw not to be messed. This photo
session was Bonnie Parker influenced but we tried something different and made
the session a mix of Faye Dunaway behind the scenes of Bonnie and Cylde, and
Bonnie her self. Hannah Elvington was the stylist/ make up artist and Carolyn

Urban Forest Project Goes Astray
On March 6th and 7th, Astray Productions, filmed vignettes for the
upcoming AIGA DC Urban Forest Project. During the course of the two days
of filming, over 40 DC, Maryland, Virginia artist took part in the production
that will be presented through the web campaign, award ceremony and
reception of the Urban Forest Project in Washington DC.

Who Is Chelsey Hood? Accepted Into
The Arizona Black Film Festival!
Congratulations to the director of the short film “Who is Chelsey Hood”
Kevin Sampson, who’s film just got accepted in the Arizona Black Film
Festival. The director of photography for this film was also Astray

Subscribe Photo Sessions For Help Wanted Diner Has Begun
Just to give you a taste of what we're trying to do with the imagery of the
diner. We’re gonna be reimagining certain classic Hollywood icons, like
Marilyn Monroe, Faye Dunaway, James Dean, Etc and creating those photos
to be framed on the walls of the diner like any roadside diner does. But in
this case, it’s OUR roadside diner and our world. So we felt we should have
our very own icons in our world inspired by real ones.
Anyone that’s interested in posing or being a part of this project please
contact us and we’ll see if we can make that happen.

The Creative Jar

AIGA DC Michael Osborne Continuum Event Photos

Entitled "Help Wanted"
Astray Productions has begun construction on the set of Joe Carabeo and
Brian Sarvis’s newest feature film Help Wanted. The film is a paranoid,
suspenseful, crime noir that will be filmed on the lot of New Millennium Studios
in Petersburg, Virginia.
The production is seeking serious investors who would love to take part in
making this exciting new film from two original, up-and-coming, filmmakers.

Bitter Sweet Spot Playing in Movie Theatre
The 60 second commercial spot Astray Productions did for Bittersweet
Catering & Café will be played before the films at AMC Hoffman Center 22
in Alexandra, Virginia. The commercial will also be played in the
theater lobby.
